Just a few
kilometers from Siena the castle stands majestically on a hill
overlooking a bend of the Merse river. This imposing fortress, built in
romanic style, catches the eyes of alla those travelling along the road
which leads from Siena to the Maremma, and boasts a long, glorious past.
The castle first appears in writing in the year 730......It is said thet
the gost of Giomba di Guiduccio Giunti (killed on 24th september 1554 by
the imperialists who took under siege Siena) is still present in the
castle, and that every year on the same day, at the same hour in the
courtyard of the fortress, as by magic, a small stain of his blood
appears. At guests' disposal elegantly furnished 4 double bedrooms with
bathroom. They are furnished with antiques. There is also one apartment
composed of 2 double bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom
